| The House The
Lodge is a private house at the water's edge with its own
dock side that can be rented in the beautiful village of Placencia
in the south of Belize.
It was completed in 2003 with a 'Crow's
nest' or roof deck. From the roof deck there are wide views
over the lagoons and mangroves which harbor all kinds of marine
life including Manatees. The Maya mountains form a backdrop
to this tranquil scene.
The ground floor of the house is occupied
by the manager and she is a fund of information and help to
visitors.
All the accommodation to let is on the first
floor, and above. The construction is entirely made from Belizean
hard wood and the interior is attractive and comfortable,
adn deliciously cool.
There are two double bedrooms with queen
sized beds and bathrooms en suite.
Above the first floor a gallery stretches
the full length of the house and looks down on the living
area. At the end of the gallery there is a further small living
space with a twin double divan. The house can sleep six people
comfortably
The living area is open plan with a kitchen
and bar at one end.
The room allows for spacious dining and
reclining areas. Three double doors lead on to a cool verandah
which looks out over the dockside and calm waters.
All rooms are cooled by overhead fans. Mains
electricity and water hot/cold , gas cooker, fridge freezer,
washing machine, cutlery, pots and pans, linen and towels
etc.are provided.
